NSW South Coast

The other weekend, a while ago now, I want on a trip with the Exchange Office. We took a small tour of the coast South of Sydney. I signed up for this trip at the beginning of semester so when it came along it was a pleasant surprise to have a day that was already paid for. To make it even better, two of my best friends here were on the trip as well!

We started by driving south, duh, on what is known as the Great Pacific Drive. The first attraction we came to was the 665m Sea Cliff Bridge that wraps around the rocky cliffs overhanging the shore below. This was built to replace a road cut into the cliffs that has been destroyed by falling boulders. It is now an iconic piece of the New South Wales coast.

We stopped at a small river while we waited for our aboriginal guide who never showed. But it was beautiful and there were birds to watch!

From there we went for a walk along the rocky coast. The colors of the sandstone were beautiful from years of weathering.

I also enjoyed all the different fauna that exist in these wind swept, high salt areas. (embracing the nerd that I am)

The sky on this day was a magnificent blue with water to match! This is where we sat and watched some orca's breaching in the distance.

The next stop was a small river that emptied into the ocean where I was once again a nerd looking at the sea life.

We also went to a nice beach with a small lake like thing.

To round out the day we took a few walks and spent a couple of hours canoeing down a river! A beautiful day in the beautiful sunshine with some beautiful friends.
